Mother's Day in Early Years

Friday morning the 10th of May in Early Years, was highlighted with the Mother's Day celebration.  Mother's was spoiled with lots of different activities and gifts made by there children.

As part of the celebration,  EY 1 homeroom for 1 day was converted into the Art Galery with the Portrait Exhibition "Mommy and I" painted by EY 1 and 2 students.

"Sharing the Planet"

Dear parents,

I would like to introduce you to our new Unit of Inquiry. It will be our last Unit for this Academic year. You will receive a newsletter soon with all the details for this term.

Central Idea:

Living things have basic needs to survive

Lines of Inquiry:

• Characteristics of living things
• How living things grow and survive
• Living things I share the world with

Last week we begin to unpack our Unit and had a chance to talk briefly about living and non-living things. We had nature walk around the school campus and was able to collect some examples of nature things (plants, rocks, seeds, etc.)

We organize a nurture corner in our class where students can observe, care and explore different Nature objects.

We will appreciate your support at home with the same Topic. You can ask your child to look for Nature things in the Garden and around the house. Students can bring examples of the objects to the class as pictures or real things. Anything is welcome.

We will carry on with the first line for the next 2 weeks.

          

Our very own book

 It's been a few weeks since students had a chance to explore being writers, illustrator and storytellers. This "class book" came as a great opportunity to show knowledge and take part in the "Book Week" as a school event.
